Our Principal Ms Hazra Ahmed, completed her primary education in New Zealand and then moved to Australia where she completed her tertiary education. In 1996, Hazra graduated from Griffith University with a Law Degree and two Arts Degrees. Hazra has over 20 years’ legal experience.
After graduating with a Law Degree and two Arts Degrees, Hazra was admitted to the Supreme Court of Queensland in 1999. Hazra completed her Articles (Graduate Training) through a busy suburban general practice law firm and gained experience in a range of areas including, family law, personal injury, wills and estates, probate, conveyancing, commercial law.
Hazra has a wealth of experience in both the private and public sectors and her experiences have been gained from working in small suburban law practices, to middle tier, large private firms and corporate organisations.
Ms Ahmed also has the unique ability to incorporate her experience and qualifications to assist clients from diverse ethnic, cultural and religious backgrounds to fully understand and access the legal system.

Hazra gained experience as a family lawyer from middle to large tiered private firms and through the public sector (Legal Aid Queensland). Hazra’s experience and her practice at Kanoon Law Group extends to representing clients in all aspects of Family Law, including children and custody matters, recovery and relocation, de facto matters, same sex marriages, divorce, property matters, spousal maintenance and domestic violence matters.
Hazra has represented clients in a range of court matters from mentions, interim hearings, directions, compliance checks, property conciliations, arbitration, mediation and family dispute resolutions, domestic violence trials, and instructing counsel for trial.
Hazra has represented client’s in the Magistrates Courts, Children’s Courts, Federal Circuit Courts, Family Courts (Magellan matters).
Hazra has held the role of Family Law Duty Lawyer with the Magistrates Court at Ipswich and as a Domestic Violence Duty Lawyer for the Beenleigh Magistrates Court, and currently holds the role of DV duty lawyer for the Holland Park Magistrates court.
Hazra obtained certificates in 2014, for Independent Children’s Lawyer training and in 2015 for Separate Representative Training for the Children’s Court.
Hazra’s experience and her practice at Kanoon Law Group extends to personal injury matters, including motor vehicle accident injuries and property damage claims, public liability claims and WorkCover claims
Hazra gained experience by working in large private personal injury specialist firms such as Trilby Misso and Shine Gouldson Lawyers (now known as Gouldson Law). Hazra held the role of Legal Counsel while employed with Suncorp Metway in their public liability section.
Hazra’s experience and her practice at Kanoon Law Group extends to personal injury matters, including motor vehicle accident injuries and property damage claims, public liability claims and WorkCover claims.
Hazra is a registered migration agent as required under the Office of the Migration Agents Registration Authority and is authorised to carry out functions as an agent under the Migration Act 1958.
